[Outfit Post] Fancy Dress Tea

The Chicago Lolita community had a lovely winter tea at the Drake Hotel, with the theme being over-the-top decadence. I love fancy tea services, but unfortunately can't afford to go to them frequently. Thus I always look forward to our community teas and use them as an excuse to wear more elaborate outfits than I would on a daily basis. For this expression of decadence, I decided to make use of a lot of pearls and flowers in my accessories. I don't usually like overloading on accessories, and I was certainly among the more minimal outfits there in terms of prints and accessories, but this still felt very decadent for me personally. It was most excellent getting to see everyone in the community again, and admiring the awesome outfits everyone put together!

I'm such a sucker for music-themed prints, so this was definitely one that I saw and knew I had to get in one form or another. What surprised me was that I actually liked the beige+brown colorway most, since generally I prefer to avoid white/beige backgrounds (I'm a klutz and spill/drop things on myself frequently) and didn't think I had much brown in my closet. However, maybe I should start expanding into the browns, since I really enjoyed the almost Mori-girl feel I got from this outfit.

This Swan Lake print is the perfect combination of my love for frillies and my love for ballet. What makes it even more special is that it has so many different pastel hues on it that can be brought out with different accessories. That way I can wear it so many ways and it can reflect a different mood each time! This was a blue and bright pink day ^_^
